How to Play Meccha Chameleon Online
Mecha Chameleon Online is a free browser version of Mecha Chameleon — Global Arena, a 16-player multiplayer hide-and-seek game. You control a chameleon that can paint itself to blend into the surroundings. Your job is to disappear — paint to match your cover, hold still when hunters are close, and survive until the round timer ends.

Move and look
Mouse and keyboard (WASD) are the recommended controls. The game shows a persistent ESC / TAB = MOUSE hint, meaning keyboard movement + mouse-look is the primary control scheme. Click the canvas to capture the mouse when the game requests it.
Paint yourself
Open the in-game paint panel to color your character. Pick a shade that matches the surface you are hiding against — the closer the match, the harder you are to spot.
Move between cover
Use the keyboard to walk between pieces of cover, climb walls where possible, and use Jump and Run to reach trickier hiding spots.
Stay still when danger is close
Movement makes you easier to detect. Hold still so your camouflage stays convincing — patience is the main verb once a hunter is nearby.
Mobile Controls
On phones and tablets, the browser build shows on-screen touch buttons: Jump, Run, Down, Paint (opens the paint panel), Whistle, and Emotes. The exact layout is shown when the embedded game loads; follow the in-game tutorial the first time you play.
Movement makes you easier to spot, so the safest habit is to paint to match a nearby surface, hold still, watch the hunters, and only move when the path is clear. How Painting / Camouflage Works
Painting is the core trick. Open the in-game paint panel, pick a shade that matches the surface you are hiding against, and your character takes on that color. A close color match is the difference between staying hidden and being spotted by a hunter — even when they are looking right at you.
Movement gives you away. Hold still so your camouflage stays convincing, and only move again after a hunter has passed. Standing beside the surface you painted to match is what makes the disguise hold up under a direct look.

Once the round starts, the timer counts down. As a hider, paint to match your cover and survive until the timer ends. As a hunter, chase down the hiders before time runs out. You can switch roles between rounds.
Survival Tips
Pick a strong surface early
The opening seconds of a round are your chance to lock a good paint color. Look for surfaces with bold, distinctive shades — they are easier to match and stand out less against busy backgrounds.
Stand beside what you painted
Your camouflage looks most convincing when your body color and background agree. Park right next to the surface you painted to match so a hunter sees one continuous shade.
Break line of sight with walls
Corners, furniture, and walls still matter. Camouflage helps, but open space is risky — break the hunter's line of sight before you move between cover.
Do not spam movement
Every dash gives you away. Short, planned moves beat constant wandering. Move between two known hiding spots, not around the whole room.
Watch where hunters look
Hunter behavior is more important than the timer. Move after a hunter has looked away from your cover, not while they are facing it.
Replay after close calls
Each round teaches safer corners and better hiding spots. Restart fast and improve your route — every round is short, and the next server is one click away.
